Classified by the National Geographic Magazine, as one of the biggest world's biodiversity reservations. It has a tropical and humid climate. In this park you will find one of the richest forests in Bolivia. Also, in the area they have registered more than 988 species.

The National Park is located among theprovincias Franz Tamayo e Iturralde, al norte del Departamento de La Paz. Franz Tamayo and Iturralde provinces, to the north of the Department of La Paz. Next to the other National Parks as the Manuripi Heat, the Integrated Natural Handling Area of Apolobamba and the Biosphere Reservation of Pilon Lajas.
Madidi is populated by nearly 1.700 inhabitants of different communities. It was established by the Bolivian Government as a National Park through the Supreme Ordinance Nº 24123, September 21 1995. Madidi holds an unimaginable wealth that invites the tourist to be in direct contact with nature. |

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
Rurrenabaque. - It has an interesting offer of tourist services, like travel agencies, hotels, restaurants, discos, karaokes, migration services offices, airport, fleets of land transport, etc. among others.
SAN BUENAVENTURA
Town located opposite of Rurrenabaque by the shores of the River Beni. 20 kilometres from San Buenaventura lays the Canyon of Bala, place where the Beni river is encased among mountains.
CHALALÁN
It is a beautiful Lagoon that is amid the National Park Madidi, one of the most diverse reservations in flora and fauna. All the roads in Chalalán drive towards Nature. Beside the lagoon, the shelter is surrounded by a primary forest, where birds and mammals are plentiful.
ACCESS ROADS
From La Paz to the city of Rurrenabaque you can get by air transport (Amaszonas or TAM) and, by dirt road to Rurrenabaque, it is necessary to use a 4 x 4 vehicle. It is necessary to spend one night in the city to leave next morning very early towards the Madidi Park. The tours to the Park are organized from 3 to 4 days. The best time to visit the park is from May to October, the dry months. |
